Magazine quality wedding photography at Silchester Farm

As a photographer, I have had the pleasure of capturing many beautiful moments throughout my career. However, there are some weddings that stand out more than others, and Stephanie and Harrison’s wedding at Silchester Farm was certainly one of them.

Silchester Farm is a beautiful wedding venue located in the heart of the English countryside, known for its rustic charm and stunning architecture. The farm itself is an impressive building, featuring a unique blend of old and new elements that make it a truly special place. The original stone walls and exposed beams give the venue an authentic, historic feel, while modern amenities provide all the comforts of a luxury wedding venue.

Photojournalistic Wedding Photography mixed with golden hour shots at Silchester Farm

Stephanie and Harrison’s wedding was held in the barn, which was transformed into a romantic and cozy space for the reception. The barn was adorned with twinkling lights, candles, and elegant floral arrangements, creating a magical atmosphere that was both intimate and elegant.

The candlelit reception was a beautiful way to celebrate the couple’s love, and the rustic charm of the barn was the perfect backdrop for their modern yet timeless wedding style. The contrast between the modern and rustic details was perfectly balanced and created a unique and unforgettable setting.

Hollie at WildRose.Florals provided the beautiful floral arrangements, which perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the venue and created a romantic and elegant atmosphere. The flowers were a combination of wildflowers, greenery, and elegant blooms that created a beautiful and unique aesthetic.

But what made this wedding truly special was the kindness and warmth of the couple and their families. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by how welcoming and genuine everyone was. Stephanie and Harrison were clearly so in love and so excited to be getting married, and their families were equally thrilled to celebrate their union. Their warmth and hospitality made everyone feel like a part of the celebration, and their love for each other was evident in every moment.

One particularly special moment during the wedding was when a 4-year-old boy, who was the ring bearer, pulled out his camera and started taking pictures of the couple and the wedding party. He was clearly a budding photographer in the making, and his eagerness to capture the special moments of the day was absolutely delightful.

In the end, Stephanie and Harrison’s wedding was a testament to the power of love and the importance of family and community. It was an honor to be a part of such a special day, and I feel privileged to have captured these memories that will last a lifetime. Silchester Farm’s stunning architecture provided the perfect backdrop for this beautiful couple to celebrate their love and start their new life together. The candlelit reception in the barn and the beautiful floral arrangements added unique and unforgettable elements to their modern yet timeless wedding style

Food at Silchester Farm wedding and events venue is celebration of the finest of British dining. Ingredients are sourced locally from Hampshire, sustainable and seasonal. Additionally a lot of the ingredients are harvested from the Silchester Farm’s own gardens and surrounding fields. Silchester Farm’s bar is well stocked from local suppliers such as Hawkridge Distillery, don’t forget to try the new in house premium craft gin ‘Wingless Eagle’

The Wingless Eagle is one of the most famous objects found in the excavations of the Roman town of Calleva Atrebatum of Silchester. The eagle is a symbol of imperial power and therefore represents courage, strength and immortality – qualities that Silchester Farm claim runs through their veins at the Farm.

History of Silchester Roman walls and Amphitheatre

Silchester is historically known for being the centre of the Iron Age kingdom of the Atrebates tribe. After the Romans departed in AD 43 it  became a town named Calleva Atrebatum. The streets are laid in a pattern,  the town thrived the Anglo-Saxon period. Surprisingly unlike many Roman towns of Britain, Silchester was not abandoned. Sadly Silchester was larely abandoned in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and over the last 30 years, Silchester remains one of the best preserved Roman towns in Britain and is one of the few that were continuously occupied from the Iron Age.
