I love to photograph children, you’d think photographing my own would be easy. In a way yes, I know them in a way noone else can but also our own children as we know behave very differently with us than the do with others. But generally I use the same rules as I suggest to other parents.
- Make sure they are fully rested before the shoot
- Bring a snack
- Play with them and have fun
- Don’t ask them to pose
- Bring props
- Clothing, make sure they’re comfortable. I try and coordinate them with each other and the season I’m shooting in, but that’s for another post.
Here is my photoshoot of the loves of my life in Swinley Forest, Bracknell. Swinley Forest is a magical place with over 2,600 acres (11 km2) of woodland across gently undulating hills. In the film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, 160 trees were cut down in order to place a cable to film the actors (Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson)) running through the woodland. Permission was granted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Great tips, Sapna. Especially not telling our children to pose! It’s a beautiful forest & I love the cute outfit & bunches 😍
Cece in the minions helmet 😍 I want that on my wall, gorgeous family and gorgeous images x
